WEST SIDE STORY

If ever a city could be likened to a chameleon, London is it. A hotbed of talent and creativity where not only a new restaurant or bar seems to open every second, neighbourhoods are on the course to major reinvention, too.

The postcode on everyone’s lips at the moment is undoubtedly west London’s W12. As Holland Park’s cooler sibling, W12 encompasses the characterful locales of Shepherd’s Bush, Wood Lane and White City. The recent launch of the Television Centre, once the iconic BBC building and now incorporating luxurious, interior-designed apartments, hip rooftop space Pergola and of course, White City House of the Soho House group, has marked this area as officially HOT. And with another rip-roaring opening gracing W12 this month, you’ll be seeing us there a whole lot more.

Cue the launch of W12 Studios – the latest luxe food court to hit London. Situated directly in the Television Centre, W12 Studios is in the hub of all the action. As the mastermind of Rory Graham, an ex-actor and key alumni member of the Kricket management team, W12 Studios has been envisioned as a multi-functional showcase of London creativity. Expect tantalising food and drink with an extensive music programme to match.

Partnering with Feast It, the dynamic space will host two rotating kitchens with eats from some of the capital’s leading culinary talent with two new operators set to partner with the venue each month. Having opened earlier this month, W12 Studios has already tasted the delights of Cue Point – a multi-sensory barbecue experience, while street-style Italian was provided by The Piadina Project. March will be just as mouthwatering with the arrival of Zoe’s Ghana Kitchen whose journey started from the confines of Zoe’s east London kitchen to make her way out west. Serving real West African cuisine, Zoe is set to spice up W12 Studios even further.

Large sharing tables, long bars and communal seating beckon a food hall-style experience amidst its industrial aesthetic. Some might say the perfect canvas for W12 Studios’ cocktail bar and affiliation with a number of London craft breweries, wine merchants and distilleries, including The East London Liquor Company. It’s fair to say one shall definitely be well oiled for its host of resident DJs, open-mic nights, acoustic sessions, live performances and future disco brunches. Confirmed and already appeared artists include Max Rad, Quiet Man, Tommy Gold, Finn Foxell and P-rallel.

As a unique taste of London, open Monday to Saturday, be sure to put this on your list.
