Despite the pandemic and Brexit, it seems little can waver London’s love affair with fresh pasta. Witnessing a resurgence in recent years whilst also forever a trusty staple, when news hit the ground that one of the capital’s most-iconic makers of tortellini, tagliatelle and toffee was opening a fifth restaurant and on our very own Marylebone Village streets, it’s fair to say we were elated. As its first new outpost in three years, Lina Stores’ new home on the corner of Marylebone Lane and Wigmore Street is a mere hop, skip and a jump from House of Kip’s very own Marylebone residence, The Marylebone Mews House.

The brand was first found as a deli in Soho in 1944 and is as equally known for it’s gourmet offerings then as its pistachio-hued brand across today. One of the key faces behind the new joint is Umbrian-born executive head chef Masha Rener, who remains in charge of the food as a longtime patron on the original Lina Stores, plus architect of the brand’s first restaurant that opened in May 2015.

Paving the way to serve something a little different, diners can expect larger pasta dishes, plus a secondi and larger dolci offering. If bountiful plates of grass-green ravioli filled with pea and ricotta, drizzled with a savoury primavera sauce and topped with mint sound like your thing, then this is your type of place.

For design lovers, Lina Stores Marylebone is the perfect go-to and is reliably as cool as the rest of its bunch. Evoking a real sense of space across its two floors, the brand’s trademark pistachio reigns supreme throughout with parquet wood floors, generous windows and soft globe lighting working together to complement the open kitchen, all-day restaurant dining space and downstairs Art Deco basement bar.
With Lina Stores Marylebone welcoming guests for both lunch and dinner, we’ll see you there.
