One of the most exciting openings to land on Notting Hill earth is finally here, and with it comes a sprinkle of movie-star glamour and sex dust all at the very same time. West Londoners, please make way for Hollywood darling Gwyneth Paltrow who is back in town!
Placing her goop feet in the city where it all began ten years ago (Gwyneth’s kitchen table to be exact), her wellness and lifestyle concept is taking a physical form by the opening of a temporary pop-up space on the ever-chic Westbourne Grove.
Lucky for us, the opening marks one of goop’s biggest global outlets yet. With designs perfected by famed UK interior designer Fran Hickman, the space encompasses four floors in total and is the ultimate homage to Gwyneth herself. As such, a theme of ethereal beauty runs throughout with sumptuous fabrics, smooth natural wood, streams of natural light and plants including exotic olive trees and wildflowers.
Downstairs, thing’s get sexy with a blue velvet, boudoir-style space that hosts goop’s sports and athletic wear including apparel from G.Sport and other ultra-functional workout kit. Down here, you’ll find supplements and health essentials at your fingertips, including some all-important sex dust too.
One level up takes you to goop in all its spectacular form with its trademark label and offerings, including homeware and accessories; notably the goop x CB2 collaboration. A dose of al fresco is granted as space opens out onto an ivy-sprawled, stone-walled garden.
One flight up and we say hello to fashion in all its finest form. Best buddy Stella McCartney has a starring role, in addition to the London edit of G. Label, Co, and more. goop’s final steps lead to a beauty wonderland where you gorge on all-things clean and non-toxic to soothe the senses. You’ll go up the stairs one person and with any luck, Gwyneth Paltrow personified, as you go back down.
This incubation of wellness, health, fitness, fashion, home and beauty is undoubtedly a treat to the senses however as all good things, it must come to an end… goop’s west London foray is sadly only a temporary space with it set to shut its doors early next year. Treat yourself quick!
