Oh, what a glorious time of the year. Christmas is very, very nearly over and dare we say it, thankfully so. The family dramas, chocolate overload and dodgy uncle dancing are a near-distant memory, until next year at least. Now, it’s ‘me’ time to truly indulge before the frenzy of New Years Eve and the start of work round the corner. Our absolute penchant is to escape the city and make way for a dirty, flirty, guilty pleasure couple of days… Who’s with us??
Never has a place won our hearts as The Wild Rabbit in England’s west. Brought to us by organic heavyweights Daylesford, and as part of the 40-year old family owned estate, The Wild Rabbit is a modern British inn set in the heart of the Cotswolds. A place to savour locally sourced, seasonal food and drink while sleep in the most divine of settings.

Recently completed by Spencer Fung Architects, The Wild Rabbit entailed the extensive renovation and extension of a once-Cotswolds village pub into a modern inn, restaurant, pub and hotel. Featuring original stonework paired with locally crafted materials, the entire space is the epitome of country chic. Neutrals, sumptuous textures with a hint of Scandi simplicity, it’s fair to say this is one of H House’s biggest sources of inspirations in our own projects.

“The principles that have guided our farm for 40 years are also at the heart of everything that we do at The Wild Rabbit – from the locally sourced, organic ingredients in our kitchens, to the handmade horsehair mattresses in our bedrooms”, comments The Wild Rabbit.
The Wild Rabbit incorporates a sensational, award-winning kitchen that toasts British farmers and artisan producers with a menu undoubtedly reflecting this. Fusing the finest seasonal ingredients, The Wild Rabbit creates dishes that celebrate traditional British cooking with a contemporary twist.

Incorporating close to 15 rooms, each and every room is unique, inspired and taking their names from the British countryside. Luxury shows no abounds here with the finest linens, textures and finishes in each and every one. A number of cottages have even been added to the accommodation offering with a further three introduced earlier this month, including The Wild Rabbit, The Little Owl and Bunny cottages. One night stay here and you’ll think you have truly died and gone to heaven.

“The idea was to create a place that felt like home – somewhere with warmth, light, good company and great food”, the Bamfords.

So, if you’re looking for something to do while relish in Gloucestershire chic, look no further.
