Let the heat and thrum of Latin America beguile your senses at one of London’s hottest hotspots. Located in the heart of Mayfair, Amazónico is a spectacle that takes guests on a journey along the Amazon River. Already established as a firm favourite in Madrid, Amazónico London is on a mission to offer a new, international audience a sublime taste of gastronomy landscape.

Sitting pretty on Berkeley Square, the space takes influence from the cultural diversity and culinary heritage of the Amazon. Its menu has been created by two of Madrid’s hottest restauranteurs – husband and wife team, Sandro Silva and Marta Seco. Featuring a sensation of Latin American feasts, their global influence encompasses Brazilian dishes, Peruvian sushi and cachaça cocktails, of course.
Where the food is a frontrunner for this restaurant, the atmosphere and ambiance are a close competitors. Featuring a lush, natural décor, its design begs discovery (just as the Amazon River) and flows from the bar at the entrance, through to the lounge, sushi counter, and the restaurant with its private dining room. Alike from source to the sea, the space is seductively adorned with a mass of natural and raw materials.

Amazónico has been completed in part by internationally renowned artist Lázaro Rosa-Violan whose main aim was to capture the enthralling feel of the rainforest. Made all the more vivid by Rosa-Violan’s incorporation of lush plants and products that are natural, organic and warm whilst combined with notes of terracotta and wood.

Co-founder Marta Seco comments on Amazónico’s new footing in the city, “London is one of the most dynamic and cosmopolitan cities in the world, with a really exciting and thriving restaurant scene, so when we talked about taking Amazónico out of Madrid and putting it on the international stage, it had to be London.
“Like the Amazon, London is home to an abundance of cultures and lifestyles which mirrors the origins of the concept”, further comments Seco.
For regulars, the nightly jazz performances will provide variety, and in addition , for the new diners in the restaurant. Regular or not, you’ll certainly find us popped up at the bar urging Amazónico to spin its spinning wheel one more time.
